The Good, The Bad and The WAY Ugly!

So the first good thing....I don't have a bandage on my head.  WOOO HOOO!   The bad thing, I'm still in my cone.  Then there is the WAY ugly thing.  Look what mom did to me!!!!!

Now It REALLY REALLY looks like a lampshade!

Now she says she did this for my benefit.  I don't really believe her.  They were laughing at me at the vet when they saw me in it :-(.

Note from Mom: The cone needs to be padded in case he does shake his head.  Which thankfully he is doing less often.

Here's my ear.  It's looking a lot better than both Mom and Aunt Barb thought it would!

When I had all my tail surgeries I healed up fast on the last one with no bandage so we are hoping that what will happen here.  The stitches on the outside are really close to be able to come out, it's the ones on the inside that are taking a bit longer.

We're sorry we haven't been around much lately.  That has been some of the other good though.

See mom did her triathlon yesterday.  The Tri-for-the-Cure, it's the biggest sprint tri in the country.    Mom finished 121 out of 301 in her age group.  Way to go Mom!

That's mom just starting the run on the far right.

Mom at the finish!

All Done, look at the cool medal she got.

So after mom's race Dad took Lucky and went and met mom and Favoritest Aunt Jaime to drive to Wyoming!  What you ask would posses them to do that?

Well that would be our new cousin!

This would be Dog To Be Named later.  Aunt Jamie doesn't like his name so we have to figure out what we are going to call him.

Dog To Be Named Later with Favoritest Aunt Jamie.
They took Lucky since he's the grumpy old man to make sure they would get along.  Seeing how much Favoritest Aunt Jamie is here we expect Dog To Be Named Later to be here a lot too.  Like we'll probably be his daily doggy day care.     After a little bit of time and lots of treats Lucky and Dog seemed to be ok together.

FAJ is going to pick him up on the 13th after Mom and Dad get back from deserting us going on vacation for a week.

So that's all our news and why we haven't been around.

  1. Your ear looks great! but that lampshade thing... you gots to do something about that...

    Sam and Pippen

  2. Oh my word...dat was just kind of evil of your mom to subject you to such ridicule. But, I do think her has a point bout it being padded though. It would have to be more comfortable.
WAY TO GO BOOMER"S MOM....WOOOOOOOWHOOOOOOOOOO! You go girl!!!!!!!! Dat is just super duper fantastic and what an amazing accomplishment fur you. I bets everbuddy is proud of you...But, more so YOURSELF!
Hello little doggie withs no name, glad to meet you. I can't wait to hears more bout you.

  3. So good to hear that your ear is doing so much better - with a little fur it will look just fine. As for the lampshade, Mom is just trying to help you. We strongly recommend the Comfy Collar that TD has been wearing off and on - it is padded quite nicely. And since it is black, it won't be as easily mistaken for a lampshade:)

Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara

  4. I think your cone looks nice! I can't believe they laughed at you! I mean, it's not like it's some girly color or something.

Congats to FAJ and Dog to be Named!

  5. I am happy to know your ear is doing much better now!
    You have a fancy cone!
    Congratulations to your Mom!
    Kisses and hugs

  6. Well, Boomer, you're coming along, but this whole thing is taking way long. Your ear looks like it's on its way at last. I'm so glad.

Congrats to your Mom. That's a big accomplishment she did. I need a nap just thinking about it. And as to No Name, he's got a very nice face. Please let us know what his name turns out to be.

  10. Yay! I'm so very much glad you don't have a bandage on your ear anymore. I bets you can hear a lot better now, huh? That new and improved lampshade is quite the fashion statement for sure.

Oh, and my mom said that your mom is ker-azy! What, mom? Oh, I wasn't supposed to tell you that. She's actually real proud of your mom, specially since my mom can't run more than 2 miles without wanting to collapse in a heap of quivering jello.

Can't wait to get to know the Dog of Mystery better!

    Wiggles & Wags,

  11. Lots of cool things going on with you! Healing up nicely and a new cousing. Oh and congrats to Mom. That's quite an accomplishment!

  12. COngrats to your MOm! That is a pawesome accomplishment. FOr your Cousin, I'm partial to the name Tucker,

    woof - Tucker

  13. Cone on head = injured dog
Lampshade on head = life of the party

    Sounds like a good trade!
